You may have seen the critically acclaimed movie, The Matrix at some point or another. If you haven’t, I strongly recommend that you do 😉

In order to do any type of Mystical Art, it’s important to have a basic understanding of the nature of reality. There’s TONS of information out there about how Reality is a simulation of experience that we’re co-creating together.

The nature of reality has fascinated me my entire life, which is why you’ll see several Mystic Twists related to technology, artificial intelligence, lifehacks, quantum physics, and other topics related to the Game of Life.

Understanding the basic rules of reality will strongly benefit any type of mystical work that you’re doing.


Even if you’re not necessarily interested in technology or physics, I strongly suggest you check out my articles on the Matrix. You don’t need to be a technologist or scientist to use this information to your benefit. After decades of teaching science and technology to novices, I’ll try to break it down and make it as relatable as possible 🙂

Like Neo in The Matrix, once we understand how the Simulation works, it’s amazing what we can do to create reality. Doing so will definitely add a Mystic Twist to your life!

Magick

We’ve all heard of “magic.”

Whether it’s a magician using illusions to entertain an audience, or spells and witchcraft that we see in popular culture like Harry Potter, everyone has a perspective of what magic is and isn’t.

I personally use “magick” with a ‘K’ to differentiate it from the illusionary falsehoods of child fantasy, to a perspective that it is a Divine Principle of the universe.

According to Inelia Benz, magick is “the power to move, transmute or influence energies and objects with the use of invisible forces and the power of the mind, often using elements, objects, spells or rituals.”

Others may say that magick is simply “science that we don’t understand yet.” And it’s true — magick can be measured, empirically examined, and modern science is slowly but surely catching up to what ancient mystics have been talking about for millennia.

But there’s more to magick than you may think.

Magick is a type of “cheat code” that can hack the Rules of Reality.

Gaia

You may have heard of the term “Gaia.” It’s the name that I personally use to put a name to the Sentient Consciousness of our Planet Earth.

If you are interested in any type of Mystical Art, you are aware, at some level, of the energy and spirit of Earth. Whether you use the elements in your rituals, or use herbal medicines for healing, it’s impossible NOT to collaborate with Gaia on some level in our mystical practices.

We are the children of Gaia, and its planetary body literally makes up everything that we interact with on daily basis.

Everything that we interact with in our lives, from the car we drive, the food we eat, to the computer or device that you’re using to read these words — all of that is a result of the collaboration between Gaia and the Human Collective.

This collaboration is such an important aspect our lives, yet we are often unconscious about it or don’t spend much time thinking about it. Which is why it will be a major theme of this website and adding mystical twists to your everyday life. Just becoming aware of this connection can make dramatic shifts in your life.

For the past several years, I have been helping to develop practical and mystical tools that we can use to collaborate and co-create with Gaia. We’ve formed what we call the Guild of Gaia so that more of us can consciously explore and expand this co-creation with Gaia.

Alchemy

You may be familiar with the archetype of The Alchemist.

Usually, we can find him working away in his laboratory, looking to understand the secrets of the Universe among chemicals and books. He wants to turn lead into gold, to find the Philosopher’s Stone, create the Elixir of Life, and transform himself into a more enlightened being. His laboratory equipment and small oven is always lit, continuing the unending Great Work while he does other tasks for daily life. Although scientifically minded, taking careful notes on his experiments, the Alchemist never forgets the Divine Truth that matter and spirit are One. His creations are Philosophic in Principle and go beyond materialistic perspectives, which differentiates him from his modern counterparts.

Alchemy requires more patience than any other form of Mystical Art.

Alchemy has been a part of our human experience for thousands of years. It is the origin of modern medicine, chemistry, physics, and many other types of applied science. But alchemy is more than just an “outdated,” archaic form of science.

Alchemy is the art and science of transformation.

Phoenix Aurelius

Alchemy can follow many paths, including spagyric herbal medicine, art, storytelling, and music, which makes it a very expansive and varied path of mysticism.

I am currently studying alchemy as one of my pathways of Mystic Arts. Phoenix Aurelius, one of my mystical teachers, focuses on spagyric pharmacopoaia, so my alchemic focus follows this path.
